Life is full of ironies.
It turns out that a former medical school classmate of mine holds Anthony Fauci’s old job at NIAID. I learned this just recently. He works under Jay Battacharya, MD, PhD– Trump’s NIH director.
This gentleman is an “Acting” director. I suspect this means he has not been confirmed by the Senate; and I am not aware that Trump has nominated him for the position permanently.
Trump has a bunch of “actings” because he is not being permitted to get his own people confirmed in the GOP-controlled Senate.
That overall is bad news for a functioning government.
I wonder how many “Acting’s” there are, Fred. I bet it’s a bunch.
