Yes, it appears that way, J. Sobran. To counter the trends he cites, you need good leadership at both the state and federal levels, in all branches of government. We don’t even come close to that.
(Or you need a reform of the culture itself, engendered by reform in the hearts of large numbers of individuals. This would theoretically produce good leadership, unless it were impossible to elect and install good leaders.)
