Jon Harris reports that ten Southern Baptist churches in the Triangle region are partners with a refugee resettlement organization.

Be reminded also that Summit Church– J.D. Greear’s home base in Durham– is affiliated with Mercy Hill Church here in Greensboro:

  1. What’s interesting is that those foreigners they are referring to in the OT were called to assimilate into the Jewish culture. They were called to leave and forsake their foreign gods and to adopt the Jewish customs and culture. If I’m wrong, I’m open to being corrected.
It’s easier and less confrontational to embrace or even advocate for multiculturalism but it’s really not hard to see that it doesn’t work. What these people long for is Heaven, which is good. However, even Heaven will not be multicultural….many cultures will be represented but it can’t be “multicultural”.

    1. I agree, Tommy. Indeed, OT passages demonstrate that Israel had borders and that it was considered to be appropriate for borders to be enforced.

What you are saying only makes sense. The Jews back then were not going to be disposed to make obvious errors that would place themselves at risk of harm based on hundreds of years of experience– except, of course, when they fell into sin.
