Update: The Cecil Brockman Saga

Readers will recall that Cecil Brockman from High Point was the Democratic NC House member who was thrown in jail because of sexual relations with an underaged person. We had previously pointed out that the socialists had been infuriated with Brockman because he sometimes voted with the Republicans.

Note that the Democrats control the criminal justice system locally and also at the state level. They control the police and the prosecutors and the jails. Many of the judges are Democrats also.

But there was a curious series of events in connection with this case.

First, bail was set very high because he was deemed to be a flight risk.

The socialists placed enormous pressure on him to resign from his House seat so they could replace him with a more reliable socialist.

Then, on Friday afternoon, it was announced he had finally resigned his position.

Finally, on Monday, the judge reduced his bail so that he could be released from jail.

Here is a reasonable question. Was there a cause-and-effect relationship between the resignation from his House seat and his reduced bail requirement? Were the socialists squeezing him to resign with the carrot offered to be released from jail? Somehow, I don’t think it is beyond the realm of possibility.

Here is another interesting factoid regarding this case. Recall that Brockman had revealed years ago that he is a “bisexual”. When he was initially arrested weeks ago, it was reported that the underaged victim was female.

That report turned out to be incorrect. Brockman’s live-in lover was a male aged 15 or younger. How about that!

Brockman says he believed the young male was an adult.
