We had discussed yesterday the potential candidacy of Michael Whatley to run for U.S. Senate. Remember, he has not yet announced.
It turns out the Daily Haymaker also had an article about this yesterday. I urge you to take a look. He is not enthusiastic about this potential candidacy.
It has been estimated elsewhere that $750 million will be spent on this particular campaign. It’s mind-boggling.
OK Haymaker, please tell us you find acceptable. I am anxious to hear from you.
There are definitely better candidates, Fred– but the challenge is finding someone who can beat Cooper. That means the candidate has to have certain qualities– but he also has to be able to raise huge amounts of money.
“Whatley has lobbied for the solar subsidy boondoggle. He also passionately bad-mouthed the former J6 prisoners that ended up being pardoned by Trump. Followed right along in the footsteps of his hero Thom.”
Pretty damning. But it is what you would expect from someone whose career has been tied up with abject, crappy Republican Party, rather than working on behalf of limited government and individual freedom.
A couple of questions come to mind, J. Sobran. Can he win? Will he provide enough of a contrast with Cooper that folks would passionately want to vote for him?
And just as important, even if he were to win, how much of an improvement would he be upon Tillis?
I hope the Constitution Party gets back on the ballot so I can vote for its candidate easily.
