It has not been uncommon for progressive/ socialist functionaries to gain control of accreditation agencies of various types. By doing this, they also control the actual work product of the entities being accredited. If you don’t dance to the accreditors’ tune, you are out of luck.
This has been true in the health care field. But it is also true in the field of education. This compels colleges and universities to adopt anti-Christian, anti-Western, pro-LGBT approaches.
The Christian Post reports that six states encompassing much of the southeastern United States have formed a new accreditation agency to fight this trend. Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida provided leadership; but most importantly, the state of North Carolina has joined this effort.
This is great news for those who want to see the colleges and universities in our state reformed and cleansed.
Any change would be a good . I would like to see a return to the standards of my days at Chapel Hill ( 56-62 )
The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA®), was created in 1979 as a credentialing authority through the joint efforts of law enforcement’s major executive associations. The CALEA Accreditation program seals are reserved for use by those public safety agencies that have demonstrated compliance with CALEA Standards and have been awarded CALEA Accreditation by the Commission.
The Greensboro Police Dept. is accredited by CALEA.
I agree, Fred, that accreditation can be a good thing if the accreditors are trustworthy and are not far left/ woke.
