On one level, it is understandable that she (and other French citizens) feel violated. That is certainly justified.
However, she needs to understand that the French population has elected their leaders for many generations. They are responsible for the choices they have made. They also largely have rejected the Christian religion. The adoption of a Eurosocialist, secularist mindset has consequences:

Turn it up loud. There is an even better version involving the choir of St. Martin in the Fields with Hector Berlioz orchestration. I heard it on NPR one Bastille Day and was brought to tears. Without knowing the translation, it seemed to say “Nothing will ever make us give up in fighting for and loving our country–resilience everlasting.” A magnificent soprano sails even higher above the choir on the final phrase. Emotional. Even I was ready to die for France.
That was the France of 1795-1815, when they thought they were the best in the world. Almost certainly little more than a distant memory.
They don’t have the will to use the requisite force of police action to stop violent thugs. Such a society is lost.

It should be clear that these riots are because of Antifa-types as well as the migrants from Islamic countries.

In each case the lesser of the 2 evils was VERY EVIL.

With regard to the French population, yes, you are probably right. They have probably been given false choices. However, consider what they have done in their country in the context of the Eurosocialism that developed in multiple countries in Europe even before the EU. I can’t help but think that was somehow an active choice, at some level, at least at some point. I don’t know enough about modern French history to say that definitively, however.
Rejecting God certainly was an active choice.
As we have learned in the USA, socialism is very difficult to eradicate once it has taken hold.
Your point about their not having the will to stop the rioters is precisely right. Note that we have had that problem here in the USA also, especially during the George Floyd riots six years ago. As you say, it is a sign of a nation that is lost.
