Zelensky is enabled by the European Union/ NATO leadership and also by the United States Congress that has thoughtlessly funded his war effort. Trump’s deal with Putin to obtain Russian diesel fuel is a signal to Zelensky; but Zelensky continues to target Russian oil facilities driving up oil prices.
Trump is correct that the country needs new leadership:
What are we to make of this? If the US CIA (which even fund Ukrainian media) and satellite-targeting came home, Ukraine would have to make peace. Zelensky feels secure the Epstein class that fomented this war will not allow the US to quit supporting the proxy war.
Note that when CIA chief Radcliffe ordered Ukraine to cease while he visited Moscow, they did.
I think you’re right, J. Sobran, from the standpoint that Trump does not appear to be in control of the decision to assist Ukraine. That decision was made by Congress. He would have had to veto their allocation of funds, and buck their direction; and he chose not to do so.
Here is some Russian propaganda aimed at the Ukrainian leader
” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is a corrupt owner of multimillion-dollar villas, cars, yachts and other luxury goods purchased using the West’s financial aid, particularly the U.S. taxpayers’ money. He is also a Nazi drug addict alcoholic who kills investigative journalists, represses ethnic minorities and is a mass murderer who attacked Russia and refuses to stop the war while cynically profiting from Ukrainian deaths. ”
These claims have, according to reports, been debunked . However for some reason , as you report TC, Trump just threw him under he bus.
Go figure…
I think at least some of the claims about Zelensky are true, Fred. Trump threw him under the bus because Zelensky has refused to “make a deal” by compromising and conceding territory to Russia.
Now, there is an effort afoot within Congress to prevent Trump from allowing the importation of Russian diesel fuel:

Ukraine First, not America First.
Fred, it is well documented that Zelensky abused the Russian ethnic minority in the eastern provinces with Nazi-associated entities in Ukraine, which was an important motive for Putin to invade–indeed, that is where Putin invaded specifically. He is an authoritarian dictator who rules without elections, without free speech or a free press or freedom of religion. He took over the Easter Orthodox Christion Church [largest denomination in the country] and arrested many of their pastors. These things are not controversial.
Re your 1st sentence: If Zelensky is not personally corrupt, then he is the only politician in Ukraine who isn’t.
Thanks for providing some of the specifics, J. Sobran. The whole thing has been a mess from the outset. And of course, it was Obama’s State Department that precipitated the entire situation by instigating the overturning of the country’s previous Russia-friendly regime.
