Did Cooper Steer $100 Million of Hurricane Helene Relief to “Affordable Housing”?

The New York Post published a story on Friday that contains compelling revelations if true.

Recall that former Governor Roy Cooper did not do much to assist western Carolina residents in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. It was widely suspected this was because the region tends to vote Republican.

In any event, the New York Post story alleges that Cooper’s disaster recovery agency sent $100 million to low-income housing instead of disaster relief in western North Carolina.

That revelation, if true, ought to be devastating for Cooper’s Senate campaign. It’s hard to know what the impact will be, however.
