With the Supreme Court allowing Trump to proceed with his Executive Order, and the Postal Service implementing rules on the handling of mail ballots, the risks associated with some states continuing with this abhorrent practice diminish somewhat. Of course, it doesn’t matter as much as it might appear, because Republicans repeatedly surrender and betray their supporters:

I wonder, Fred, what the consequences would be for states that won’t comply. I am a bit uncomfortable with this assertion of federal authority over elections. I also don’t know otherwise how to fix this situation.
