… at least temporarily. Three plaintiffs from the borough sued Mamdani over his pied-a-terre tax that sought to redistribute wealth from people who own two homes. A judge also from Staten Island granted a temporary restraining order.
Staten Island fortunately is punching above its weight.
The judge incidentally had been appointed by Democrat governors.
Obviously, this is not over. I do not know if the tax was imposed legally. But I hope Mamdani fails in this endeavor and with nearly everything else he is trying to do.
