In the past, it would have seemed unthinkable.
But what is taking place in California is perhaps the inevitable conclusion of the corporatization and consolidation affecting the medical profession. An effort is afoot to unionize 10,000 physicians within the University of California hospital system.
From my perspective, it is pretty tragic. What was once a great profession has been reduced to this because of the actions of government. And both major parties are at fault.
