Two observations.
First, the phenomena you see in this interesting video all have direct parallels in the United States.
Second, the narrator is describing something very similar to Gramsci’s approach through which society is transformed by the progressive/ socialist march through the institutions:

Their National Health Service is a wreck bogged down by historic waiting lists, staffing shortages, and underfunding, which directly impacts public health. Britain is currently facing a complex combination of long-term economic stagnation, crumbling public infrastructure, and intense political volatility. Observers and citizens increasingly describe the country as “broken” due to a structural decline that has left living standards lagging far behind other advanced economies.
Their law enforcement seems to be on the side of criminals.
Their new man at 10 Downing is part of the Fabian legacy.

No, Fred, I think you nailed it. It’s really tragic what had happened to a country that has such a neat history. It was an empire, as you know, and now, it is pretty pathetic, in part because of the socialism, and in part because of the migration from the Middle East, India and Africa.
As insidious and malignant as the Fabians have been, Britain’s ruin has had more to do with her government’s decision to engage in 2 wars of choice: WWI and WWII.
Without these catastrophes (which Britain pretended they won), the Fabians couldn’t have invaded so successfully. Britain eliminating property requirements to vote–no doubt stemming from all the soldiers who died fighting in WWI but didn’t have the right to vote– in 1918 also helped the socialists.
The film is right to highlight how all the elite of the Progressive Era were eugenicists. People don’t realize how Nazi racial views in the 1930s were only mildly outside the norm for the time. (The Holocaust came later, in response to the war and the realization that world Jewry was very much behind Britain and the US going to war with Germany. Before the war, they just forcefully “incentivized” Jews to leave; 3/4 of German Jews did.)
Thanks, J. Sobran. Yes, the World Wars hurt Britain severely. It’s amazing how far they have fallen from where they were around the turn of the 20th century.
