Good biblical message. Christ is our Savior . Islam is our enemy.
Yes, Fred. And Pastor Pacienza doesn’t discuss it in the video, because it is outside his purview, but we need to find a way to stop more of them from coming. And we need to be able to deport those who are not citizens, and those who are demonstrating Sharia-like tendencies or anti-American tendencies. Trump has already taken some steps by designating certain countries of origin that have high levels of terrorism as places from which we cannot accept new folks coming in.
I’m sympathetic to his thrust.
Yet ironically Christianity is/was treated with more friendliness in Assad’s Syria and in Shia Iran and in Lebanon than it is in Israel, where promoting Christianity is not allowed on TV and Christian priests are sometimes spit upon and Christians are not allowed the full rights of citizenship. The Ottoman Turks carefully preserved many very old Christian churches now being destroyed by Israel.
Some of these Middle Eastern nations are more properly to be regarded as somewhat-secular states with authoritarian rule instead of as radical Islam states, J. Sobran. I think Iran’s toleration of Christianity is very limited. Israel is very pleased to take the money of American Christians for tourism; but as you say, toleration of Christianity is otherwise uneven. After all, it was established as a Jewish ethno-state. Interestingly, it is regarded as not permissible for white Christians to have a comparable ethno-state for themselves.
AI says there are 500,000 to 1.2 million Christians in Iran and that the number has been growing.
J. Sobran, that is within a population of 93 million. While it may seem that number of Christians suggests they are tolerated on some level, you then have to get down to the nitty-gritty of what they are permitted to do, and what they are not permitted to do; and what the consequences might be if they violate those restrictions. My understanding is that, for instance, they allow certain types of Christians with a historic presence among certain ethnic groups in parts of the country that border other countries.
Triad, very good point about the specially privileged Jewish ethno-state.
I think we need to question some of the basic suppositions of things we have been force-fed over the years, J. Sobran.
