Greensboro Nixes Red Light Cameras, Explores Speed Zone Cameras

The Orwellian totalitarians in the city of Greensboro decided against the red light camera program they planned to implement. But they have now decided to explore a speed zone camera program to enforce speed limits.

This, of course, will be a mess. Speed limits on many Greensboro thoroughfares are set unrealistically low. Nearly everyone drives above the limits; and on some roads, it is very difficult to drive below the limit for various reasons. A speed zone camera program would ensnare large numbers of citizens and be utilized by the city as a cash cow.

The technocrats are itching for a way to extract more money out of citizens and impose stifling controls. We ought not allow them to do so.

  1. I remember the first time GSO tried this scheme. And then some astute attorney pointed out to the city hacks that all fines are belong exclusively to the “Guilford county School Board ” Thus the cameras came down. Good riddance.

But alas GSO is trying to resurrect them.

Oh, I guess that they would have shortened the duration time of the yellow light in order to increase more citations and thus more revenue.

Bottom line red light camera are nothing more tan a ” Money Grab “.
