I am anxious to see if the new chairman of the Federal Reserve will bring about any changes in our fiscal polices. Whatever Powell was doing didn’t put the brakes on inflation.
It is amazing, Fred, that the American dream has been nearly killed after things were looking so positive right before Covid.
Covid changed everything, and that was probably part of the plan.
It would be nice if Congress would stop its profligate spending. That would help reduce inflation.
He’s shedding zero light on a fairly straight-forward, but purposely obscured problem: The Fed creates $s out of thin air to monetize the massive debt the Swamp creates to fund all their crap. Creating $s out of nothing and buying the new Treasury bills and bonds steals the value of the existing $s you hold.
The Swamp is organized crime. It isn’t a lot more complicated than that.
Powell deserves blame for printing like a banshee during the Faucian Dystopia (when he had the ability to say no), but the Fed is a creature of the Swamp. When the Epstein class wants them to print money, they always print.
Unfortunately, J. Sobran, what you describe is precisely how it works.
Some of our biggest problems under any conceivable political context cannot be fixed. That is a tragic truth. There is no prospect for correcting these issues, unfortunately.
