Where Do We Stand With Iran?

Recall that the war was supposed to be over within 4-5 weeks. It has now been around 2.5 months.

There is much noise and chatter on the internet. It is sometimes difficult to know what is true in the fog of war.

However, one contention I have seen made is that our bases in the region took much more damage than is commonly known. The New American seems to corroborate this allegation. It also has reported regarding statements Joe Kent has made regarding our intelligence agencies’ appraisal of the situation prior to when the war began.

I hope Trump can somehow pull a rabbit out of a hat, and bring this to an end without committing ground troops.

  1. Trump could bring down the regime with an order to destroy Iran’s electric generating plants and their bridges. I think the hardliners will then say uncle and wave a white flag. If only ….. Too much vacillating. The Iranian leaders can’t be convinced to surrender and negotiation is impossible.

    BOMBS AWAY !!!

    1. You want to bomb 93 million people into the stone age in the opposite hemisphere from the one you live in…for what?

The US and Britain have been abusing Iran for ~100 years. As far as I know, Iran has done nothing to hurt Americans in America.

One would expect participants of this website not to display the complete opposite of the attitudes of Christianity.

      1. While Iran has been a thorn in our side for 50 years, J. Sobran, I am just not sure they had the intention of developing a nuclear weapon and using it. Concern had been expressed about this possibility for two decades by those more inclined to neoconservativism. According to Kent, however, the intelligence agencies were not concerned.

  2. This utterly stupid war–instigated in the most underhanded, dishonorable manner by Trump (the Judas) and his master Netanyahu–will bring on worldwide recession. You cannot produce the present GDP with 15-20% less oil and fertilizer. People in poorer countries will starve.

The abuse of decades at the hands of the US has disclosed to the Iranians that they must play the cards they have assembled [very good missiles and drones] to go with their geographic advantages to demand the US quit it for good. I sense they are unwilling to be the slaves of the US and Israel, in the subservience that has been inflicted on Libya, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Somalia, Jordan, and Egypt by US-Israel.

As in almost all wars, everyone will be left worse off. Poorer, less free, and with more legitimate hate in the world–the hate of the survivors for the killers of their loved ones.
