The Abbeville Institute has a remarkable documentary that relates how the 1607 Virginia colony had much more impact on the development of our nation than 1620 Puritan Massachusetts. The point is made that Massachusetts’ vision for the federal government ultimately prevailed; although the ethos of Virginia is more quintessentially American and is widely reflected in both law and culture. As someone who spent seven years of my life in the Old Dominion, I found this interpretation pretty fascinating because it was a wonderful place. Take the time to watch it if you feel moved to do so:
With Justice Gorsuch's comments on the "creedal nation," it is a good time to re-visit the 1607 Project. We take a sledgehammer to the "proposition nation" nonsense. If you like this, please consider a donation: https://t.co/oSJgJ4lioS pic.twitter.com/C54QHQ3gte

Very interesting program.
I was married in Virginia ( December 1959 ). I am again residing in Virginia.
A very different place than it was back then.
I suspect this is how Thomas Jefferson would feel if he were alive to witness the current situation in the Old Dominion State…i. e. Turning in his grave !
I thought they did a really good job with this, Fred. And they offered perspectives I had not previously considered. Very persuasive overall.
