While it might seem unthinkable in some respects, it appears Lyndsey Graham has a truly contested primary on his hands. He is the typical moderate Red State/ Southern Republican U.S. Senator.
The one factor in his favor is that South Carolina has open primaries. That means anyone– including independents and Democrats– can vote in the Republican primaries.
Some polling data suggests he is in trouble, however.
Now, something has happened that is very uncharacteristic in Republican primaries. One conservative challenger has stepped aside to allow another challenger to have a better chance to beat Graham. Typically, establishment GOP incumbent Senators are protected by multiple conservative challengers splitting up the opposition:
Yes, it is time to retire Lindsey Graham. South Carolinians will have a clear choice thanks to Paul Dans’ patriotic step. Mark Lynch is facing a daunting challenge in
this primary on June 9th.
Here is when Trump told us the truth about Graham.

Fred, Graham’s “unfavorables” in South Carolina are apparently sky high. I think Lynch has a chance!
