My understanding is that the previous massive inflation rate also has been tamed:
🚨 IT’S OFFICIAL: Argentina’s right-wing President Javier Milei has HALVED extreme poverty from 11% to 5%, and poverty from 30% to 17%

He destroyed leftist socialism and his country is surging.
LFG! Milei is great! 🇺🇸🇦🇷 pic.twitter.com/3kXzX08c9G
How refreshing to see a country change course overnight.
Yes, it is, Fred. It seems people never learn to reject socialism until they face the consequences. And even then, some STILL don’t reject it.
Peronist came to power ~1943 and were a combination of socialist and fascist (a bit like the US today). Argentina was a rich country before WWI, but started losing their way soon after. So they’ve had a very long stretch of impoverishing big govt.
So Melei/Argentina is sort of an example of “People will usually do the right thing…after they’ve exhausted every other possibility.” But 3 cheers for him!
It took huge amounts of suffering for them to reach this point at which someone like him could be elected. I expect the same might be true of the USA also, J. Sobran.
