Abortion Clinic Closure Narrative, And Alternatives Highlighted

The News and Record reported about the Randleman Rd. abortion clinic closure. It quoted the organization citing a “hostile political environment” that led to its closing.

That makes no sense. The GOP-led NC General Assembly made abortion entirely legal during the first twelve weeks of pregnancy. Indeed, North Carolina has become an abortion tourism destination state for much of the surrounding southeast.

In addition, the same organization that ran the Randleman Rd. clinic also has locations in Charlotte and Raleigh. Those locations are presumably unaffected by the “hostile political environment” that plagued the Randleman Rd. location. Again, makes no sense.

The News and Record reported in the article that Planned Parenthood’s Battleground Ave. location is offering the abortion pill. That location historically has not performed surgical abortions. We have discussed previously the complications associated with the abortion pill.

But another evil alternative materializes. The Greensboro Thread reports that a new local obstetrics/gynecology practice is being established that will focus on “reproductive and gender-affirming healthcare”. The practice will be led by a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)– not a physician. Among the services offered are transgender hormone treatments and fertility services for LGBT couples. The article does not explicitly state that they will be offering abortion services, but one can read between the lines.
