We have been dealing with the phenomenon of liberal Republicans in the Senate and establishment GOP Senate leaders who frustrate the agenda of conservatives literally for decades. This is nothing new:

My son-in-law is a supervisor with FEMA and hasn’t been paid in 6 weeks. He has been forced to pile up credit card debt. The Democrats are punishing their own constituents. This is maddening. I would however not favor doing away with the filibuster. To blame Republicans is unfair. You still need 60 votes !!
The problem, Fred, is the Republicans don’t have a working majority even when they hold 53 or 54 seats. Republican voters would be justified to ask themselves,”Why bother?”
