Iran is evil. I say keep pounding until whoever is in-charge says uncle.
It’s hard to know what to believe about what is going on, Fred.
The country that was minding its own business (relative the US-Israel), that trusted Trump’s word so that it allowed its leaders to be lured out under a truce flag for negotiation –who was then underhandedly sucker punched, murdering the leader, his family, and all the negotiators and then bombed totally unprovoked…so victimized by the USIsrael, that country is evil?
In my long life, Iran has never done one thing to hurt me (even though the ruling class of the US has repeatedly given them cause). The villains in the life of Americans are in the Swamp. The Epstein class, for whom this barbaric war is being fought. It is the Epstein class who have propagandized Americans to hate people on the very opposite side of the globe they’ve never met.
Your masters have you exactly where they want you mentally. The Epstein class are the same people who lied to us for 20 years in Afghanistan. Who lied about WMD. Who lied about everything concerning Covid (right down to the toxic spike proteins)–yes, the Dept of Defense was in overall charge. But their control of officialdom is so complete, they can lie till the cows come home and the sheep don’t notice.
As I have said here previously, J. Sobran, there have been concerns about the Iranians getting nukes for a couple of decades. And yet, during that time span, there was exceedingly slow progress toward their getting them; and there was no obvious or expressed inclination to use them even if they had nukes. After all, under Mutual Assured Destruction, they would cease to exist if they pulled the trigger. Yes, I know that is less of a disincentive for the jihadists.
The big question is what changed that led Trump to make this decision. I am not aware this has been made public.
Trump has been quoted previously– years ago– that Iran can’t be permitted to get nukes. But making such a statement and bringing it to reality are two different things.
The US has a right to decide what another sovereign country can have to defend themselves? Is there an 11th commandment that I missed “Thou shalt be hubristic and rule over others”?
I don’t know Shia ideology especially, but as a matter of history, the suicide bomber thing seems to be a Sunni practice (all the 9/11 guys). And their spiritual Supreme Leader fatwahed that nuclear weapons were anti-Islam.
Ask yourself why the US [blessed by the protection of ocean and extreme relative wealth] has routinely managed to find boogeymen that justify killing huge numbers of innocent people in the opposite hemisphere from the one we inhabit. Vietnam, Serbia, Iraq twice, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Somalia, Yemen, Ukraine. The US has initiated 80% of all wars since 1947.
I find it particularly important that the Iranians– after two decades of well-known concerns– still had not completed a nuclear weapon, and certainly had not launched one. It would be good to know what the intelligence reports alleged, and whether they are a good representation of reality.
