The news report is that North Carolina Methodists have taken a public position opposing Trump’s immigration policies. They claim these policies “violate biblical principles and dehumanize already marginalized people.”
This is a feminized denomination that reveals its scriptural ignorance. Does the Bible really prohibit nations from having secure borders, enforcing the law and setting their own requirements for when non-citizens can enter and remain? The Methodists’ position is profoundly ignorant. It is issued in spite of considerable discussion and study within Christian circles over the last decade about this topic demonstrating how Christianity does not require nations to admit and allow to remain huge numbers of non-citizens.
Of course, there is no conservative Christian counterpart to the Methodists to rebut them and issue a correct opinion here in the state of North Carolina.
