ICE Detention Center Illegal In Greensboro

We discover that our exalted City Council in Greensboro adopted new regulations to cover detention facilities. This was apparently in response to the revelation that ICE was possibly considering the failed Jewish school at the corner of Hobbs and Jefferson.

The regulations say there can be no facility within 2500 feet of houses of worship and homes. That would appear to knock the Jewish school out of consideration. The ordinance was apparently written to achieve that result.

Note there was no enthusiasm on the part of the City Council to prevent the school from being used as a temporary housing site for illegals. It was OK to house them there for ultimate release into the various parts of the United States; but it is not OK to detain them there if they are being considered for deportation.

Seems to fit the pattern with our local politics.
