an act or instance of revolting against civil authority or an established government
Minnesota is engaged in de facto secession by declaring that the state no longer recognizes US government jurisdiction or authority in Minnesota.
Ironically, I write this from a hotel room in Charleston, SC, where the South first started a similar insurrection in 1861 and tried to kick the US government personnel out of their state. (I’m here to escape the ice storm in GSO!)
Long overdue. The insurrection act, since its passage in1807,has beencalled up over 30 times. Now, for sure, is the correct time.
I agree, Fred.
Trump displayed a weak response with the BLM riots during 2020. I think it hurt him politically. He needs to act.
Merriam-Webster defines insurrection as:

Jaycee, I agree with you about Minnesota. I don’t know what Trump is waiting for.
And I wish I could also be in Charleston escaping this storm!
