Amen. Succinctly laid out. “$300 billion” of taxpayer dollars has poisoned academia.
There needs to be a massive effort to claw back all those funds being directed to higher education, J. Sobran. To get certain benefits from higher education otherwise, we have to accept a significant amount of destruction.
How can one see net benefit from a system of indoctrination camps [aka, colleges] that has taught our children they are a blight on the planet, that their ancestors were evil, that being white is bad, that free markets are bad and socialism (usually mixed with fascism) is good, & that meritocracy is racist?
You can’t see net benefit, J. Sobran. That fortunate subset that benefits from their college education does not outweigh those who do not and all the mess you list.
“The U.S. is the wealthiest and most powerful nation on the planet. Its founders created what is now the world’s longest-lasting liberal democratic constitution. The Declaration of Independence put forth revolutionary ideas about human freedom and equality that ushered in a new era for the world.”
Yet “American Quarterly, the flagship journal of the American Studies Association…considered the country’s premier journal of American studies…80% of articles published between 2022 and 2024 were critical of America, 20% were neutral, and none were positive…focused on American racism, imperialism, classism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia and transphobia.”
excerpts from WSJ article: American Studies Can’t Stand Its Subject
By Richard D. Kahlenberg And Lief Lin
These people really are reprehensible, J. Sobran. I wish they would go away.
