You would think there were ugly scenes in the classrooms with ICE agents stealing away kids who are non-citizens.
But that is not the issue. The NC Board of Education chair, Eric Davis, is fussing because these kids are being held out of school by parents because of fears over ICE. That is resulting in lower attendance numbers.
What does that mean for Eric Davis? Less school funding because attendance indirectly determines how many taxpayer dollars flow down to the school. That is why he is upset.
Maybe he should be concerned that this population constitutes such a large portion of the students in NC public schools. That ought to be a red flag for anyone.
Yup, Mr. Davis is concerned about the wrong thing.
I expect he is a socialist appointee, Fred. These people are an embarrassment.
