Residents Show Up Regarding Guilford Property Tax Increases

The News and Record reports. Kudos to those who showed up; and even more kudos to those who made the effort to speak.

Recall that we will be vulnerable to property tax increases of upwards of 40 percent with the most recent property revaluations.

One of the commenters discusses a bill proposed by John Blust in Raleigh that would require local units of government to set revenue-neutral property tax rates when property revaluations occur. That is a great idea; and I hope the General Assembly adopts that measure. You can’t trust the sleazy socialists at the local level.

  1. I really don’t miss the revaluations in Guilford County. On one of these I appealed the appraisal they on my residence. I had to testify before some sort of a commission as a step in my appeal. Good news they lowered my tax burden a great deal.

Yes , applause is deserved for those brave souls who showed up and those who spoke. Blust’s bill 539 has been gathering dust since March. Berger and the Speaker should push it through ASAP.
