Governor Stein Subverts Federal Direction On Covid Vaccine

Readers might be aware that the federal HHS within the last few weeks issued a directive that the Covid vaccine could only be provided to certain groups of people with a doctor’s prescription.

On Friday, Governor Stein ordered his State Health Director– a physician– to issue a standing order so that anyone within these groups to get the vaccine without having to consult with a physician. This is a problem because the intention of Trump’s HHS was for patients to get an individualized recommendation from their own physician.

One can argue that the state should have primacy over health matters– and that is true. However, we heard from the Cooper/ Stein/ Cohen crowd during the pandemic repeatedly that we must bow before our federal “partners”. Now, all of a sudden, there is a switcheroo; and Stein’s objective is to subvert what Trump’s HHS is directing.

Trump’s people should have withdrawn the vaccine from the market completely.

  1. Hey, Governor , see you in court. Please somebody file a lawsuit to enjoin Stein’s contemptuous move.

    1. Fred, I am not sure about this, but I think that the federal government controls when meds under emergency use authorization can be given. There has still not been enough time for the full FDA process for approval. You are right– a lawsuit is in order.

If his Health Director issues this standing order, he ought to be liable for what happens– but of course, he won’t be.
