TC: Thanks that was enjoyable. I have visited Poland . It was as described . Warsaw, Krakow, the UNESCO World Heritage salt mine, Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp and many other interesting sights including the Black Madonna.
Things seem to going well Politically in this former communist country
Fred, glad you are back! Were it not for territorial insecurity, with its geographic location being vulnerable to military conquest from various directions, I can’t help but envy a bit what they have in Poland. They have a better situation than most countries in the world.
I remember, a couple of generations ago, Polish jokes were in common circulation. No more…
A great and encouraging story. Rule of law and no woke. And inoculated via experience from Communism.
You are right, J. Sobran, that the experience with communism is paradoxically an advantage because the people have recent direct historical memory for what it was like. That is probably why eastern Europeans who recently immigrated to the US are among the most pro-liberty Americans.
