Josh Stein’s Big Vetoes

There was a late Friday afternoon news dump. Governor Josh Stein had vetoed a bill to require greater cooperation with federal immigration authorities (ICE) on the part of law enforcement officials within the state; and also a bill to legalize concealed carry of guns without a permit.

It never made sense to me that a special permitting process was required for “concealed carry”. If there is a constitutional right to bear arms, why should we need special permission to exercise it?

With regard to the immigration bills, Stein’s veto is a classic illustration of his Jewish worldview influencing his official actions. Expanding immigration– legal and illegal– has been seen within the Jewish community as a means to advance their own interests by diminishing the power of Americans of European ancestry. That is why they were the chief promoters of the 1965 law that blew open immigration into the United States from all parts of the world.

He is encouraging democratic socialist county sheriffs to facilitate shirking federal immigration law.

I hope that the General Assembly is able to override Stein’s vetoes– and in fact, that they are somehow able to override nearly everything that he does.
