It is not unusual to hear folks on the right discussing the imminent collapse of the democratic socialist party. I am not so sure. The pendulum swings back and forth in our mostly two-party system; and chances are the unwise public will elect them again as soon as conditions deteriorate in a major way under the Republicans. There is also a good chance the Republicans will squander whatever opportunities they have to achieve lasting positive change and consolidate their gains:

I would like to see the House and Senate ” Blue Dog ” Democrats change their registration the Republican and leave the left wing socialists to fight among them selves . That might insure a permanente conservative government for a long time.
