Ron Johnson was elected to the Senate during the Tea Party wave. For the most part, he has held his head down over the years. But during recent times, he has stepped to the plate with Covid and now with the “big, beautiful bill”. He is taking a position that needs to be taken:

  1. I am sorry but this looks a lot like grandstanding. When the dust settles let’s see if killing the bill accomplishes anything.

    1. Fred, the Republicans have a problem on their hands with their narrow majorities and their large moderate/progressive contingent. It is difficult to get anything passed. I really had questions about doing reconciliation in one big bill. It would seem to be easier to break it up into smaller pieces to get things passed.

  2. Johnson is in the right. Why win the House, the Senate, & Presidency and then essentially continue the Obiden budget with grotesque levels of spending (with a deficit near 7% of GDP!) when the country is racing towards bankruptcy?

    1. This is really a sad story we are seeing unfold, J. Sobran– a party that wins the presidency and both houses of Congress, is supposed to be conservative, and that has such difficulty getting anything worthwhile passed.
