Just this week, I saw an online headline from our esteemed local paper reporting about the state legislature’s effort to make ivermectin over-the-counter in NC. The headline referred to the drug as a “horse dewormer”. It’s still going on.
Triad, to describe a North Carolina newspaper as “esteemed” has got to be sarcasm. About 2.5 billion taxpayer $s were dispensed to media during the Plandemic to lie to us and censor the truth. Corporate media are whorish propagandists.
Although not as bad as presently, the history of journalism is generally pretty sorry. Pulitzers have been awarded to liars like Walter Duranty routinely. Journalists have been very instrumental in fomenting every unnecessary war from Lincoln’s War to the 2 wars with Iraq. That the profession isn’t held in much more contempt than lawyers is only because they uniformly control the apparatus of PR.
The state of the legacy/ mainstream media in the United States, J. Sobran, would be very sad if it were not contemptible.
There are loads of alternatives for national news. There is a small handful of alternatives for state news. And there are few alternatives for local news. Unfortunately, the alternatives for local news are contracting dramatically.
