An article in the New American makes a great point. When we see so many federal judges issuing rulings that are indefensible under the Constitution, some are going to resist. What can the judge then do?
What if the US Marshal’s service refuses to work with these activist judges? If the U.S. Attorney General and the President decide that they will not enforce the judges’ orders, nothing will happen unless the case is kicked upward to a higher level.
But what then?
Many of us would rather wait and let the SCOTUS settle all these disputes.
In practical terms, Fred, that is what will happen in many cases. But what if the Supreme Court upholds what the district court judge is doing?
SCOTUS settled the student loan payoff question.
Biden publicly declared that he would not follow the SCOTUS ruling.
So what happened then to “force” Biden to comply?
Nothing.
Good point, JayCee.
I suppose it would depend upon how much Trump is concerned about getting impeached and removed from office.
