Guilford County Socialists Looking To Pass Another School Bond

It is fairly shocking that Skip Alston was quoted saying the county is going to need to pass another school bond referendum.

This occurs after the Republicans had passed a school bond shortly before losing control approximately five years ago, and then the socialists passing another within the next couple of years. These two amounted to $2 billion.

The school system has no incentive to economize on school construction or to scale back expectations regarding the grandiosity of the building projects. They fritter away the money and then expect more.

The trigger for this announcement was the occurrence of HVAC problems at Page High School. The school system does not adequately maintain its schools because it wants to build new buildings.

New school construction is a bad investment in Guilford County. More parents are sending their kids to private schools and charter schools. Others are home schooling.

As Scott Yost points out in the Rhino article, interest expense is rapidly mounting as interest rates have increased because of democratic socialist deficit spending.

This ought not even get discussed, but the socialists are in firm control.
