Western NC Critical Cold Weather

I am seeing overnight lows tonight in the NC mountains in the single digits, with likely wind-chills below zero.

My understanding is that, four months after the hurricane, we still have some people living in tents in western North Carolina. Many others live in campers and the like.

There was much drama when FEMA began throwing people out of hotel rooms recently. These folks have since gotten a reprieve.

We need to pray for the people of western North Carolina. Trump extended to them a lifeline during his inaugural address yesterday, but it takes time to mobilize help. This issue should have been resolved at the state level a long time ago.

Governor Josh Stein is ostensibly trying to work on this problem, but his focus has been marshalling federal assistance while our own state dawdles implementing solutions.
