Gavin Newsome’s Failures

During the period of my training and education many years ago, I was introduced to the concept of “controlled burns” for management of forest lands. The object is to remove and reduce periodically the organic matter that sits on the floor of forests that can become combustible; and to do it safely. This is not controversial, and is a practice that has been well established for many years.

Trump is right about California and Gavin Newsome; and recent events vindicate the points he had made previously about clearing the floor of forests, and also about assuring water supply. These measures had been resisted because of environmental extremism:

    1. Fred, the Hindenburg disaster killed more people than the LA fires– at least, as of right now. Given the amount of destruction, it is amazing the fatalities have been as low as they have been in LA. But for the people who have not died, there are obviously still enormous human costs– except perhaps for the most privileged.

      And there are plenty of privileged folks who lost their homes in LA.

      When you have 10,000 structures destroyed, the losses are unimaginable.
