Mark Robinson Speaks Out Further About Helene Response Failures

While western North Carolinians braced for the storm, Governor Roy Cooper was busy hobnobbing with the leftist elite in New York. His administration’s response has been sluggish at best. Even the Democratic Sheriff of Buncombe County admitted the storm “caught us off guard”…

North Carolina shouldn’t have to wait for D.C. bureaucrats or Governor Cooper to act. Governor Cooper mobilized less than 200 National Guard troops before Hurricane Helene hit North Carolina. In contrast, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis ordered the mobilization of nearly 4,000 National Guard troops well before the storm. Gov. DeSantis also worked with utility companies to preposition resources to handle power outages caused by the storm. Efforts like these would have served North Carolina well — but sadly, Governor Cooper had other ideas.

In times of crisis, our state needs bold and aggressive action to protect people.
