Carolina Journal: Budd, Bishop, 26 Others Oppose Mandy Cohen Appointment to CDC

This is a great article that recounts Cohen’s horrendous performance leading the state of North Carolina during the pandemic. But it also paints vividly the picture of a public health “physician” who happens to be a democratic socialist operative.

Mandy Cohen was able to charm the media. But she was also able to ingratiate herself with the Republican caucus in both houses of the North Carolina General Assembly, thereby delaying and blunting their opposition to her authoritarian approach. (They were also looking after their own political self-interest, of course, which explained in part their inaction).

Senator Ted Budd and Congressman Dan Bishop were among the signers of the letter sent to Joe Biden that opposes her appointment.

  1. I hope the position of Bishop, Budd and others will kill the nomination. But as I have said previously the Director of CDC does not require Senate confirmation.
That having been said , anything she says or does in that position should be ignored.

    1. Interestingly, every US state had the prerogative to ignore the CDC over the last three years. Only a couple chose to do so. But you are right– she should be ignored. She MUST be ignored.
