Thanks for the link, Fred. This has always been a complicated problem. I think Pat Buchanan was treated unfairly by WFB (as was Joe Sobran over the same issue).
I hope President Trump figures out a way to extricate us from this situation.
Bannon called Oct 7 Israel’s Pearl Harbor. Actually pretty apt. FDR knew all about it ahead of time (the Japanese code had been broken) and had done everything he could to get Japan to attack. The discussion in FDR’s cabinet meeting 10 days or so before Pearl Harbor was all about how they could get Japan to fire the 1st shot.
Israel maintained Gaza for decades as something not too different from a concentration camp. Netanyahu purposely boosted Hamas (making sure they got funding) BECAUSE Hamas opposed a 2-state solution. So like FDR, Israel provided the motive.
They knew they had created a powder keg. Yet the vaunted Mossad didn’t know, being fully aware of the hate they’d generated in Gaza? You don’t think Mossad didn’t have thousands of “eyes” on Gaza?
No mention by Bannon of the NY Times article of the Egyptian warning?

The security lapse on the Israeli side of the border made no sense– especially since this has been a heavily fortified border for many years.
