Who Should Replace Lindsey Graham?

The South Carolina senator’s unexpected, sudden death fuels speculation as to who Governor Henry McMaster will appoint to replace him. He will undoubtedly consult with President Trump at some point; but I don’t think Trump’s preferences should be dispositive. And I hope John Thune is kept completely out of the conversation.

When you consult Conservative Review’s Liberty Score and the New American Freedom Index, one name rises to the top. It is Ralph Norman, who represents the parts of South Carolina near Charlotte, the Upstate and Midlands.

Norman is a limited government, constitutional conservative.

It will be interesting to see who is selected.

  1. Yes it could be an intense and breakneck piece of pollical theater.

Potential contenders also being floated for the interim appointment and the special primary include U.S. Representative Nancy Mace and Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette.
