Readers are aware that Skip Alston and his cronies are getting ready to increase our taxes. The only question is how severe the increase will be.
To facilitate their tax increase, the News and Record decided to publish a couple of articles. It had been reasonably well known that our tax rate is much higher than in Wake County and Mecklenburg County.
The hero journalists at our daily paper rushed to the socialists’ rescue, informing us of all the reasons our tax rate is much higher, and making it seem extremely reasonable that it would be.
It is almost as if Skip Alston had a dedicated stenographer at our daily paper. There is no examination of discretionary expenses undertaken. It is pretty clear the paper is attempting to “soften up” local property owners for what will surely follow.
Indeed, the N&R is the cheerleader for all things socialist. I have said it before… it is time for torches and pitch forks,
Fred, it is pretty clear to me that the general populace is acutely aware of this situation, and is very concerned.
The only thing that might somehow help protect us is the fact that the region has a large black middle class. But the socialists will try to pull off redistributionist schemes, one way or another. Help some, hurt many others.
