Republicans lost the redistricting battle, at least temporarily, in Virginia. It appears mail ballots and early voting made the difference for the socialists. Republicans won the same-day, election day voting.
The GOP diverted tens of millions of dollars to prop up John Cornyn and Lindsey Graham in their primaries; and to defeat Tom Massie in his primary. All of this money would have been better spent in Virginia. A stronger get-out-the-vote effort might have changed the outcome.
Ken Cuccinelli seems to feel the redistricting election won’t survive court scrutiny. I hope he is right:
The "yes" vote has won Va's redistricting referendum — but the legal fight is just beginning. Four Va Constitutional challenges are now teed up:

THREE challenges to the amendment process itself:
1️⃣ First passage was invalid. The amendment was taken up during a special session…
I hope , of course, that Ken Cuccinelli is right about the eventual outcome.
I have heard rumors that Trump will take steps to move Alexandria and Arlington back to the District of Columbia. That would be a good move.
I had seen some chatter about that also, Fred. The implication with that chatter is that it would be easy to do. I am not sure about the legalities, but it would be a great idea if it really is possible.
DO IT !

I agree, Fred. That would be a just response to what the socialists pulled in Virginia.
