A Better Candidate To Run The SBC’s Public Policy Arm?

After a series of awful leaders at the helm, a search team for the board of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission has a designated candidate to recommend as its next leader.

It is Evan Lenow. He has been on faculty at Southwestern Seminary and currently at Mississippi College. Most notably, he has the endorsement of Richard Land, which I view as a positive sign. He is described as “convictionally conservative”. In addition, it appears that he might have been raised in Adrian Rogers’ church in Memphis.

I hope we can be cautiously optimistic that the tide is turning.
