Black-on-white crime is rarely discussed, in any context. We can speculate as to why CBS is suddenly telling the truth, at least part of the time:

Cooper still couldn’t bring himself to say the perpetrators–thieves and murders–were black.
Just as in this country the hugely disproportionate commission of crimes by blacks is almost unmentionable. Heather MacDonalds statistics might as well be classified CIA documents about their JFK assassination.
I think the fact the story was reported, J. Sobran, may be an indication that CBS is feeling a bit of pressure from Trump and his people at the FCC. In the past, this story would not have been reported at all.
