Drake Maye is the quarterback of the New England Patriots. The team won its division championship on Sunday and is headed to the AFC championship next weekend.
Maye was the quarterback for UNC Chapel Hill. It is unusual for that school to produce major NFL quarterbacks. He is from Huntersville near Charlotte.
He happens to be a Christian. He is seen in the video below praying with teammates and opposing players after the victory on Sunday. He is in the foreground, with a hat on his head and his hand on the shoulder of someone else:
Win or lose, Jesus always gets the glory!

He and the Patriots will be facing the Denver Broncos on Sunday. The Broncos lost their quarterback, Bo Nix, to an ankle fracture near the end of its game this past weekend. That means Maye has an excellent chance to play in the Super Bowl.
Mark Maye’s father started as UNC ‘s QB. His brother Luke made a now famous shot in the NCCAs, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrmJq8XFwkA and his brother Cole played for the Florida Gators football Gators. They sure have got the Tar Heel gene.
Yes, it’s a big sports family, Fred. I hate the NFL, but I have been watching Patriots games the last couple of weeks. I’m very happy for the young man. He seems to be very grounded.
