George Hartzman reports that the Bellemeade Parking Garage in downtown was slated for demolition by the city of Greensboro on the basis of a contractor’s letter– under the guise of safety considerations. However, two engineering reports indicated that repairs could be made, and the building could be salvaged.
He explores the hypothesis that other agendas might have driven the decision to demolish the garage.
Is the taxpayers’ money being adequately protected? Remember always our corrupt machine politics.
Thanks, George, for pointing out the differing “expert” opinions.
He did a great job with this, Fred. So much taxpayer money wasted.
