Megan Basham has a couple of posts on X that detail how the Southern Baptist Convention’s leftward-leaning leadership mishandled sex abuse allegations that had taken place a few years ago.
She describes how the process was used to target certain conservatives that were among the Convention’s leadership. It also demonstrates how the report was biased that had been produced by the consulting firm hired to investigate.

Why does this matter? Because leaders within the Southern Baptist Convention, the largest Protestant denomination in the United States, took steps to rid themselves of the conservatives who were leading the executive committee. They did this through claiming an abuse crisis.

Can the SBC conservatives stage a coup d’état and oust the liberals? We have discussed this before but the bad guys always seem to come out on top.

Can we oust the liberals? I don’t know. The conservatives are getting more organized, but more conservative churches are also leaving the Convention. If this is God’s will…
